The half-decomposed body of a dolphin has been found at Patuakhali's Kuakata beach.
The dolphin washed ashore on the beach adjacent to Kuakata Tourism Park around midnight on Thursday.
Kuakata tourism businessman Hossain Amir said: "The dead dolphin washed ashore by the tidal waves and got stuck on the beach adjacent to the tourism park. It has net marks on its head and tail."
The research organization WorldFish's Ecofish 2 Project Associate Researcher Sagarika said: "The dolphin found on the beach is of the Irrawaddy species. It could have got caught in fishermen's nets and died."
Forest Department Mahipur Range Officer Abul Kalam Azad said: "On receiving the news, I ordered the beat officer there to bury the dead dolphin in the sand."
