Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen has hoped for a secular and harmonious Bangladesh in the new year.
"This new year will be of harmony and tolerance. [We'll] achieve a beautiful Bangladesh by stopping name-calling,” he said while attending a Mongol Shobhajatra in Sylhet on the occasion of Pohela Boishakh on Friday.
Regarding the upcoming general election, Momen said: “The government wants a free and fair election. But it's not only the government's responsibility. It's also a responsibility of the people and all the political parties to ensure a free and fair election.”
“The people of Bangladesh never forget to vote,” he said.
