The Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board (CHTDB) has awarded scholarships to 751 meritorious, backward and poor students studying in various colleges and universities of Rangamati hill district at the board's head office on Monday.
The development board's chairman Nikhil Kumar Chakma said: “Today's students will build a smart Bangladesh and can advance this backward hilly area with their higher education.”

Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board is providing district-based education scholarship to the students of three hill districts every year to develop the talent of backward students of Chittagong Hill Tracts. The present government is playing an important role in the development of education, he added.
According to the CHTDB, in the financial year 2021-22, scholarships were being provided to 2,193 students at the university and college level in three hill districts.
Dhaka TribuneOf this, a total of 751 students have been given scholarships at university and college level in 10 upazilas of Rangamati hill district. Among them, 406 students were at university level and 345 at college level.
Besides, 725 students in Bandarban district and 717 students in Khagrachari district will be given scholarships. A one-time scholarship of Tk7,000 is being distributed to each college level student and Tk10,000 to university level students.
