Biman flight makes emergency landing as tyre bursts mid air

A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight made an emergency landing at Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport after one of its tyres burst during take-off from Kolkata.

The BG-392 aircraft landed safely at around 10am on Monday, with 72 passengers on board. 

The aircraft departed for Dhaka at around  8:49am local time. Later, at 9:45pm, Dhaka airport officials were informed that the flight requires an emergency landing. 

Three units of Fire Service and Civil Defence were stationed near the runway to prevent any accidents.

Currently, the aircraft has been kept at the airport hangar, said Group Captain Muhammed Kamrul Islam, Executive Director, Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

The flight was operated by a Dash 8-400 model aircraft manufactured in Canada
