Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has said the party is ready to overcome all forms of challenges against terrorism, corruption and crime.
He was speaking at the 22nd national council of the Awami League at the historic Suhrawardy Udyan on Saturday.
Referring to the BNP, Quader, who is also road transport and bridges minister, said: “They think that they will make a huge achievement by removing Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. They could not do anything on December 10, and they will not be able to do anything on December 30 either.”
“No one can fight against terrorism like our prime minister. The Awami League needs to stay alive for the country to live, and Sheikh Hasina needs to stay in power.”
“Sheikh Hasina is working on fulfilling the dreams of Bangabandhu. This way, we are going to work till the end of our lives to create a ‘Sonar Bangla',” he added.
The minister further said the prime minister had surprised everyone by building the Padma Bridge with the country's own funds, which was why the opposition was concerned. They were conspiring because they could not defeat her in the polls, he added.
