Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun on Monday said that the members of the police force were ready to deal with any disorder and sabotage.
He said that the force could face any challenge of maintaining law and order without any bias in the coming days, mentioning that no one should doubt the force's ability in this regard.
The IGP said that the police were working firmly against militancy and terrorism in light of the zero-tolerance policy announced by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
He made the statements while talking to reporters after the inauguration of the IGP Cup Mymensingh Premier Division Cricket League-2022. Mymensingh District Sports Association and Mymensingh District Police organized the event at the Circuit House ground.
Terming Bangladesh Police a professional force, the IGP said its trained members had successfully fulfilled the responsibility to maintain law and order in the country.
The police chief said that the force was performing its duties as required to enforce the law to protect the people's lives and property.
Saying that police's engagement with the public had been increased through community policing, beat policing and open house days, the IGP called upon the police members to make it a place of people's trust and confidence.
