Civil aviation ministry to probe presidential flight security clearance issue

State minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Md Mahbub Ali has said a probe will be launched to find out how they got permit to get on board of the November 16 VVIP flight without any security clearance.

The minister made the statement while talking to the reporters following an event at Dhaka airport on Tuesday.

The Biman Bangladesh Airlines authorities decided to bring back four of their staff members and officials from London after President Abdul Hamid's security detail found that the officials did not have security clearance required to board the president's return flight to Dhaka.

None of the four officials accompanied the president during the outbound flight from Dhaka to Germany and London in late October. The officials flew to London on a regular flight on November 13 and they were due to come back on the president's flight on November 16.

President Md Abdul Hamid left Dhaka on October 29 on a 16-day visit to Germany and the UK for a regular health check-up and eye treatment.
