State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid has said that people who were nominated in the Joy Bangla Youth Award have come from remote corners of Bangladesh.
He said although they are not privileged to many facilities of modern world, they have achieved a great deal with their sheer determination and efforts.
The state minister said: “We, who live in the city, are amazed to see their work. A truly eccentric courage worked in them. This is our small effort to present them not only to Bangladesh but also to the world. Through this small effort of ours, many have gained global fame.”
Nasrul Hamid made the rearmks in his welcome speech at the the Joy Bangla Youth Award ceremony at the Sheikh Hasina National Youth Development Institute in Savar on Saturday.
He said that many people have gained global fame through Young Bangla's small efforts.
The state minister said all of this has been made possible by the directives of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Nasrul Hamid said: 'We all want to work together in Bangladesh. There will be no discrimination of religion here. Future Bangladesh will be a modern, environment friendly and a developed Bangladesh to the whole world.”
He said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is fulfilling her father's dream.
“We are all helping thousands of youths on this platform. Together we will build a better Bangladesh by 2041,” Nasrul Hamid added.
Organized by Young Bangla, the youth secretariat of think tank CRI and the country's biggest network of youths, Joy Bangla Youth Award awarded this year 10 youth-led organizations, selected out of over 600 entries from young changemakers across the country who silently transformed their communities through social initiatives.
In the sixth instalment of the event, which celebrates the young champions of social changes, the organizers recognized the contribution of Unmad Editor Ahsan Habib and indigenous writer Younguan Mru over the decades.
