Namaz-e-janaza of three Bangladeshi peacekeepers who were killed in an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosion while conducting operations in the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission was held on Saturday.
The namaz-e-janaza was held at the Army Aviation Hangar of Dhaka Cantonment.
Chief of Army Staff SM Shafiuddin Ahmed along with senior officers of Dhaka Cantonment and members of all ranks were present at the event.
At this time, the army chief laid wreaths in honor of the slain peacekeepers, according to a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations Department (ISPR).
Later, the bodies of the soldiers were sent to their respective villages - Brahmanbaria, Sirajganj, and Nilphamari by Army Aviation helicopters. There the dead were buried with full military honors.
On Friday evening, the bodies of the soldiers arrived at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
The three Bangladeshi peacekeepers were killed in an IED explosion during the operations of the UN peacekeeping mission in the Central African Republic on October 4, 1:35pm Bangladesh time.
So far, 129 soldiers of Bangladesh have been killed in the UN peacekeeping mission.
