The College of Tourism and Hospitality Management (CTHM) of International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT) celebrated World Tourism Day 2022 on Tuesday.
The theme for this year was “Rethinking Tourism”, according to a press release.
Prof Dr Abdur Rab, vice-chancellor of IUBAT, presided the ceremony while Md Al-Amin, hotel manager of The Westin Dhaka and Chevan Gooneratne, general manager of Best Western Plus Maya, were present as the chief and special guest respectively.
Besides, some Bachelor of Arts in Tourism and Hospitality Management (BATHM)’s alumni joined the event to motivate departmental students.
On Tuesday morning, CTHM students attended a World Tourism Rally in the Tourism Board area.
The main ceremony started at 3:00pm, followed by a cultural program at IUBAT open auditorium.
