Bangladesh Jeweller's Association (Bajus) has announced a reduction in the price of pure gold in the Bangladesh market by Tk1,285.
As a result, the price of 22-carat gold will stand at Tk83,280, which was earlier Tk84,564 till Wednesday, reports Bangla Tribune.
This information was confirmed in a press release signed by MA Hannan Azad, chairman of Bajus Price Determination and Price Monitoring Standing Committee on Wednesday.
It stated the price of pure gold has decreased in the local market. Therefore, considering the overall situation, Bajus has decided the new price of gold.
According to the new decision of Bajus from Thursday, 22-carat gold will cost Tk83,280, 21-carat gold will cost Tk79,490 and 18-carat gold will be Tk68,117.
Besides, the price of traditional gold was increased to Tk56,453.
Meanwhile, the price of silver was kept unchanged.
The price of 22-carat silver has been fixed at Tk1,516, 21-carat silver is Tk1,435, 18-carat is Tk1,225 and traditional silver is Tk933.
