One more Dengue patient died in 24 hours to Thursday morning, raising this year’s death toll from the mosquito-borne disease to 22.
During this period, 176 people were hospitalized with the viral fever as cases have continued to increase in Bangladesh, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The latest death was reported in Cox's Bazar, where the dengue death toll stood at 12. Ten other fatalities were reported in Dhaka division.
Of the new patients, 143 were admitted to hospitals in Dhaka and 33 outside it, as per the DGHS.
As many as 781 dengue patients, including 657 in the capital, are now receiving treatment at hospitals across the country, it added.
On June 21, the DGHS reported the first death of the season from the viral disease.
This year, the directorate has recorded 6,357 dengue cases and 5,554 recoveries so far.
