CAAB staffer held with gold bars worth 32L in Chittagong

A team consisting of Customs Intelligence and National Security Intelligence (NSI) has arrested a trolley man of Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) along with four gold bars weighing 466grams at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong.

The detained trolley man Mohammad Ismail, hailed from Mirarhat village under Hathazari upazila of the district.

On a tip-off, a team of the Customs Intelligence and National Security Intelligence (NSI) conducted a joint drive in the parking area of the airport and recovered the gold bars after searching Ismail's body.

The trolley man discharges his duty after landing a flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines from Sharjah in Abu Dhabi on Saturday morning, the customs intelligence official said.

"The gold bars worth about Tk32lakh were recovered after searching Ismail's body,” he said, adding that legal action will be taken against the involved person.
