The Padma Bridge authorities have collected over Tk100 crore in tolls in 41 days since the bridge was opened to traffic.
A total of 7,97,815 vehicles used the bridge during the period, paying Tk101,90,14,400 in both toll plazas in Mawa and Zajira points till Saturday, Executive engineer Dewan Mohammad Abdul Qader told Bangla Tribune.
On Friday, authorities collected over Tk99,07,83,400 in tolls from 7,45,349 vehicles.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the 6.15-km bridge with great fanfare on June 25.
It marked an important milestone in Bangladesh’s history, as it is a symbol not just of Bangladesh’s tenacity but of its growing economic prowess and development.
