Bangladesh Railway on Saturday suspended gateman Saddam Hossain for "dereliction of duty" in connection with the Mirsarai train accident that left 11 people dead.
Meanwhile, police on Saturday lodged an FIR against the railway staff for negligence, reports UNB.
Chittagong Railway police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Zahirul Islam filed the case against gateman Saddam Hossain, who was detained late on Friday.
Meanwhile, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chittagong Railway police station Nazim Uddin told Bangla Tribune that Saddam will be handed over to the court at noon.
On Friday, 11 people were killed and five others injured after a train hit a microbus at an unmanned level crossing.
Among the deceased, four were teachers, six students, and one driver.
They are Ziaul Haque Sajib, 22, Wahidul Alam Jisan, 23, Mostafa Masud Rakib, 19, Riduan Chowdhury, 22, Moshab Ahmed Hisam, 16, Md Mahim, 17, and Sagar, 17, Iqbal Hossain Maruf, 17, Ayatul Islam, 17, Mohammad Hasan, 18, and Golam Mostafa Niru, 26.
Later at night, police started handing over the bodies of the victims to their families without post-mortem.
Thousands of people attended the namaz-e-janaza of the 11 victims.
