Abrar Faiyaj, younger brother of Abrar Fahad, who was brutally murdered at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet), now got selected to the “A” unit of Dhaka University.
He confirmed the matter to the Dhaka Tribune around 8:30pm on Monday.
Earlier in the day, the results of the “Ka” or “A” unit admission test under the Science Faculty of Dhaka University for session 2021-2022 were published.
Abrar Faiyaj ranked 44th on the merit list of the A unit.
He said: "On Monday afternoon, I got the results of the admission test of 'A' unit of DU. However, it has not been decided yet where I will be admitted. I am more likely to be admitted to Buet.”

Earlier on June 30, Abrar got selected to at the same university as his late brother.
In the published results, Abrar Faiyaj go into the Mechanical Engineering Department. He secured the 450th position.
Faiyaj is currently enrolled in the Department of Computer Science at the Islamic University of Technology (IUT) in Gazipur.
Abrar Fahad, a second-year student of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering department of Buet, was brutally killed after being tortured overnight by Chhatra League leaders and activists at the university’s Sher-e-Bangla Hall in the early hours of October 7, 2019.
