The government has ordered shopkeepers and businessmen to close shops, shopping malls and markets by 8pm every day, to save electricity and energy, amid rising prices worldwide.
The concerned departments have been informed to implement the directive, said a letter signed by Md Ahsan Kibria Siddiqui, director general (Administration) of the Prime Minister’s Office.
According to the letter, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has directed to take necessary steps to save electricity and energy under Bangladesh Labor Act, 2006.
The letter has been sent to the concerned ministries and administrations.
