The Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Lalbagh Division has arrested the managing director and the chairman of the pest control service company in connection with the deaths of two siblings allegedly from pesticide poisoning after the company cleaned their house in Dhaka's Bashundhara area.
The arrested are Ashrafuzzaman, chairman of DCS Organisation Ltd , and it's managing director Forhadul Amin.
They were arrested from Tangail and Brahmanbaria during raids on Thursday based on secret information.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DC) Mashiur Rahman of Detective Lalbagh Division confirmed the matter.
The details about the raids will be revealed later.
Earlier, police arrested another staff of the company on Monday night in connection with the deaths.
A case was filed against a pest control company after the deaths of two siblings.
The father of the two boys, Mobarak Hossain, filed the case with Dhaka's Vatara police station.
According to police and family sources, some employees of a pest control company went to the family's house in Dhaka's Bashundhara residential area on Friday.
The family entered the house some 15 hours after the service was completed.
However, all of the family members allegedly fell sick from the effects of the spray the company used.
Shahir Mobarrat Zayan, 9, died at the house the same day, and Shayan Mobarrat Zahin, 15, died while undergoing treatment at the ICU of Dhaka's Evercare Hospital, said General Manager of Ever Care Hospital Arif Mahmud.
The parents of the siblings were also hospitalized, but fortunately, their condition did not deteriorate any further.
The aunt of the two siblings, Dr Rawnak Jahan Rosy, said the incident took place due to the incompetent employees of the pest control company.
