The ongoing mild heatwave is likely to continue in seven districts of Bangladesh, said a Bangladesh Meteorological Department bulletin valid for 24 hours from 9am on Tuesday.
A mild heatwave is sweeping over Rajshahi, Pabna, Nilphamari, Kurigram, Khulna, Jessore and Kushtia and it may continue, said the bulletin.
Light to moderate rain or showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at many places in Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dhaka,
Mymensingh, Khulna, Barisal and Sylhet divisions and at a few places in Chittagong division with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places across the country, it added.
Day temperatures may fall slightly and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged.
The country's highest temperature on Monday was recorded at 36.9°C in Rajshahi and the lowest temperature on Tuesday was 24.5°C jointly in Rangamati, Tarash and Chuadanga.
The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours till 6am on Tuesday was recorded at 96mm in Rangamati.
