Biman Bangladesh Airlines and Novoair have signed a Special Re-protection Agreement (SRA), a bilateral agreement between airlines, to protect their passengers' interest in case of a flight delay or cancellation.
The agreement – that allows the airlines to carry each other’s passengers domestically and internationally in cases of flight disruptions or delays – was signed at the Biman Bangladesh Airlines headquarters, Balaka Bhaban in Dhaka, on Wednesday.
Mohammad Ali Osman Noor, deputy general manager (pricing and RMS) of Biman Bangladesh Airlines and Mes-bah-ul Islam, head of marketing and sales of Novoair signed the contract papers on behalf of their respective organizations.
Under this agreement, both airlines will carry passengers to each other’s domestic destinations in an event of flight disruption or delay.
Similarly, domestic passengers connecting to international destinations will also be facilitated under the SRA.
Biman chief Mokabbir Hossain said: “I am delighted to have entered into such an agreement with Novoair.”
“I hope passengers of both parties will be highly benefited by this initiative.”
Echoing the same, Novoair chief Mofizur Rahman, said: “I am proud to have entered into such an agreement with our national flag carrier.”
“We hope that the passengers will get better service as a result of such cooperation. Novoair and Biman Bangladesh Airlines will work together in the future for the development of the country's aviation sector.”
Senior officials of both airlines were present during the ceremony.
