Dec 27, 1988

At least 200 passengers die after a cargo vessel rams ‘Haisal,’ leading it to sink, on the Dhaleswari River.

Aug 20, 1994

Over 200 passengers die after an overcrowded ferry sinks in the Meghna River.

Dec 28, 2000

At least 158 people of MV Rajhongshi die after the launch collides with another vessel in Meghna River during Eid holidays.

May 3, 2002

Over 400 passengers killed after MV Salahuddin-2 sinks at Meghna river.

April 2003

Two launches – ML Mitali and ML Majlish – capsizes during a nor'wester instantly killing at least 300 passengers.

At least 110 people die and about 200 go missing and many others injured after MV Nasrin-1, a triple-deck ferry, sinks in the Meghna River.

At least 200 die as three ferries – MV Lighting Sun, MV Diganta, and ML Majlishpur – sinks in separate accidents in Bangladesh.
