Prime Minister's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim has dismissed the news on house rent, bank loan, electricity bill, and holiday in offices, which went viral on Facebook, as a rumour.
"A rumour regarding waiving house rent, postponing bank loan and electricity bill for three months and one-month holiday in all offices is being made viral through Facebook. It is completely false and fabricated," he said in a statement on Thursday.
Ihsanul Karim said those spreading such rumour are committing crimes, reports UNB.
"Stringent legal action will be taken against them," he added.
The prime minister’s press secretary said the premier, Sheikh Hasina, will inform about the steps taken to combat the coronavirus situation by herself or through proper authorities.
