Bangla Tribune journalist Omar Faruk passes away

Omar Faruk, special Correspondent of online news portal Bangla Tribune, has passed away following a cardiac arrest. He was 51. He breathed his last at Dhaka’s Square Hospital around 3:30am Sunday, reports Bangla Tribune. Faruk had a cardiac arrest while entering office on Saturday afternoon. He was rushed to the hospital at once. There he died under treatment early Sunday. His first namaj-e-janaza will be held around 1pm at Dhaka Reporters’ Unity and second one will take place at Bangla Tribune office. The senior journalist will be laid to rest at Jurain graveyard in the afternoon after last janaza at Mir Hajurbagh Mosque. During his career, he worked in Daily Samachar, Daily Rupali, Daily Ajker Kagoj, Daily Jugantor and Bangla Tribune. He was a member of Dhaka Reporters’ Unity. He left behind wife and two daughters.
