Rajuk cancels eviction drive at Dhaka's posh areas

The decision was taken at a board meeting of Rajuk on Sunday morning.Rajuk's Authorised Officer of Zone 5 (Dhanmondi and Lalbagh) Abu Zafar Mohammad Shafiul Alam confirmed the matter to the Dhaka Tribune.He said: “We had to cancel today's [Sunday] drive due to the absence of police. We have sent a letter to the Dhaka Metropolitan Police regarding the matter.”The official said the drive might start from Monday.Rajuk decided to carry out an eviction drive against unauthorised business establishments in the areas.
