Nisha Biswal: Bangladesh visit was ‘important’

Nisha Desai Biswal, assistant secretary of state for South and Central Asia, US Department of State, has said her two-day visit to Bangladesh was “important”.
“Concluding an important visit to Bangladesh. I conveyed support and solidarity of United States to stand with Bangladesh in combating terrorism,” the US diplomat said in a tweet on Tuesday morning.
She was talking to the senior journalists at the residence of US Ambassador to Dhaka Marcia Stephens Bloom Bernicat in the morning.
Biswal arrived in Bangladesh on Saturday to discuss security issues after the two major terror attacks in Dhaka and Kishoreganj.
During her stay in Dhaka, she met Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali, among others.
Moreover, she also met with the diplomatic community and business leaders who are concerned but committed to stand with Bangladesh.
In the meetings, she discussed with the Bangladesh government on specific ways US can support law enforcement & security forces in investigating & responding to terror attacks
She also made a solemn visit to Holey Artisan Bakery in Gulshan to pay respects and honour the victims of the heinous attack.
