Clash over boundary wall dispute kills one in Comilla

A man was killed and dozens of others were injured in a clash between two groups over boundary wall dispute in Comilla's Brahmanpara upazila. The groups, led by Shamsu Mia and Mofizul Islam, had fought in the past and dragged each other to court. People loyal to Mofizul attacked, torched and looted more than 50 houses of Shamsu loyalists on Thursday. Mofizul Islam, who took part in the attack, sustained severe injuries in the clash. He died at Brahmanpara Health Complex on Thursday afternoon. Police and RAB personnel brought the situation under control around noon. The injured are being treated at various medical facilities. Brahmanpara police station Officer-in-Charge SAM Shahjahan Kabir said police were in the area to prevent escalation of violence.
