Update : 15 Jul 2024, 08:46 PM

The injured quota reform activists, who were undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), have been reportedly attacked again by Chhatra League activists.

After several attempts since the afternoon, Chhatra League men wearing helmets stormed into DMCH at around 7:30pm and launched the attack.

Many were seen carrying rods and Chinese axes during this time. They attacked several students injured in the quota reform movement again.

Additionally, they vandalized several ambulances parked at DMCH.

Later, law enforcement officers present at the scene prevented them from entering the emergency department.

During this time, they also attacked several journalists.

Shahbagh Police Station's Officer-in-Charge (OC - Operations) Arshad Hossain said that everyone came here for medical treatment.

They are trying to provide treatment to both the protesters and the general public. Upon hearing about the sudden attack, they immediately arrived at the scene, but the attackers had left DMCH before their arrival.

At around 5:30pm, Chhatra League members tried to attack the emergency department of DMCH.

Over 200 students injured in the clashes went to the emergency department of DMCH for treatment.

When several Chhatra League activists attempted to attack them, Ansar members requested them to leave.

Subsequently, a clash ensued between protesters and Chhatra League men on the road in front of the emergency department.
