Update : 02 Jul 2024, 02:09 PM

Examinees of the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations continued to face hardships due to rain on the day of their second test on Tuesday as well.

Along with them, their parents also endured the inconvenience of downpours while waiting for the exams to end.

The HSC Bangla Second Paper examination took place from 10am to 1pm.

In the morning at New Model Degree College in Dhanmondi, students were seen arriving at the centre via rickshaws, motorcycles and autorickshaws.

Even with umbrellas, many entered the centre partially drenched. Not just at New Model Degree College but at various centres across the capital, students faced similar predicaments due to the morning rain.

Earlier, on Sunday, the first day of the HSC exams, many candidates had to return home drenched after leaving the examination centres.

That day as well, candidates faced hardships due to rainfall while heading to the examination centres, arriving partially wet despite having umbrellas.

Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department forecast that for 24 hours from 9am, temporary gusty winds along with light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely in most places across Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong, and Sylhet divisions.

Moderate to heavy rainfall is also possible in some parts of the country. In the past 24 hours, Dhaka received the highest rainfall of 47mm.

The HSC and equivalent examinations scheduled for Tuesday in Fulgazi and Parshuram upazilas of Feni district were postponed due to heavy rains and flooding.

The Sylhet Education Board on Monday announced new dates for four subjects of the HSC and equivalent exams suspended due to flooding in the region.
