Education Minister Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel has announced that the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent exams will be held in April 2025.
He informed this at a press conference organized at the International Mother Language Institute premises, Dhaka in the evening after Sunday's first day of HSC and equivalent exams.
The Minister informed that efforts are underway to conduct the HSC exams in 2026 within a shorter timeframe.
The HSC and equivalent exams for the year 2024 began on Sunday. Due to natural calamities, exams for the Sylhet Education Board have been postponed.
According to tradition, every year, HSC and equivalent exams start in the first week of April.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, the exact timing of the exams could not be maintained. To bridge the learning gap, the HSC exams are being delayed.
The education minister said it will be possible to take the exams per the previous rules in the coming year.
