All sorts of ice creams are set to become costlier as the government is imposing 5% more supplementary duty on ice cream.
The total supplement duty on ice cream will be 10% instead of existing 5%.
This move aims to increase revenue collection and tax compliance in FY25.
Finance Minister Abul Hasan Mahmood Ali on Thursday unveiled a Tk797,000 crore proposed national budget for the 2024–25 fiscal year in the national parliament.
The finance minister said: “With a view to increasing revenue collection and tax compliance in financial year 2024-25, I submit the proposal to the parliament."
