One hundred seventy-five platoons of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been deployed across the country to maintain law and order during the fourth phase of the sixth upazila parishad elections on Wednesday.
The BGB will work as a mobile and striking force to maintain peace and order in the electoral areas from Monday to Friday.
It will be implemented under the "In Aid to the Civil Power" to assist the civil administration.
During the third phase of the elections, 300 BGB platoons were deployed, preceded by 457 in the second phase and 418 in the first.
