Over 200 houses were gutted in a fire that broke out at a Rohingya camp in Cox’s Bazar’s Ukhiya on Saturday..
The blaze erupted at Tanzimarkhola Rohingya camp number 13 of Ukhiya around 1pm.
Three units of the Fire Service and Civil Defence managed to bring the blaze under control around 2:30pm after one and a half hours of effort.
Additional DIG Md Amir Zafar, captain of APBn-8, confirmed the matter.
Two units from the Ukhiya Fire Service Station rushed to the scene when the fire was reported. Besides, another unit from Ramu joined the firefighting effort later on.
However, no casualties have been reported from the incident.
The reason behind the fire could not be known immediately.
On May 24, over 300 establishments, including houses, were gutted in a fire in the same camp.
