Two presiding officers have been withdrawn due to allegations of irregularities during voting at two centres of Jubilee Institution in Bogra.
Deputy Commissioner Saiful Islam gave the order on Wednesday afternoon, Bogra Sadar Upazila Election Officer Sufia Khatun Asiya confirmed.
The two officials involved are Motiur Rahman, a lecturer from Namuja Degree College, who served as the presiding officer at the east building of Bogra Jubilee Institution, and Abu Saleh, a lecturer from Nishindara Fakir Uddin School and College, who served at the west building.
Deputy Commissioner Saiful Islam said that he, along with the Bogra superintendent of police and various government officials, visited the Jubilee Institution centres around 1:30pm on Wednesday. During the visit, he observed that all election agents at the booths belonged to a single candidate, and their identification cards were signed by the presiding officers.
He further said: "The accused officers' intentions will be investigated. If evidence is found, their affiliated institutions will take necessary actions. Each booth should have had one agent per candidate, a rule that was not followed. The presiding officers have confessed to the accusations."
