The teachers and employees of non-government educational institutions staged a black flag march in Barisal city on Thursday, demanding full festival allowance and nationalization among other benefits.
They held a rally in front of the Ashwini Kumar Hall. Later, they marched the streets with black flags.
The program was organized by the Barisal Divisional Sangram Committee of the Federation of Bangladesh Teachers-Employees Association.
At the rally, the teachers said they have been demanding benefits and an end to discrimination for a long time but only 25% of the festival allowance is approved.
On Wednesday, the organization held a protest rally and human chain on the same demands. At the end of the rally, the teachers and staff gave a memorandum to the prime minister through the deputy commissioner.
