A fire that broke out at the scrapyard behind the Shahbag police station has been brought under control.
The fire broke out around 2:45pm on Tuesday, said Lima Khanam, duty officer of the Fire Service and Civil Defence control room.

Three firefighting units brought the blaze under control within a few minutes.
The origin of the fire could not be known yet, she added.
Several vehicles, including two trucks, one covered van, three private cars, one CNG, and one jeep, were gutted in the fire.
