Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni on Monday announced that the new curriculum for the secondary level of education is set to be fully implemented by 2025, and the students studying under it will sit for their Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations in 2026.
“The adoption of the new curriculum started in 2023 for the sixth and seventh grades at the secondary level and the first grade at the primary level. The eighth and ninth grades will start following the new curriculum in 2024, while the tenth grade will adopt the new curriculum in 2025,” she said at an inauguration ceremony of an education festival at the International Mother Language Institute in Dhaka.
“The evaluation under the new curriculum will start this year. We will need some time to understand various aspects of it. Teachers will need some time to get used to it. Parents will need time as well,” said the education minister.
“Fortunately, the students are the ones who are most enthusiastic and need the least time to adapt. They are quickly becoming accustomed and will continue to do so,” Dipu Moni said.
