The carcass of a big whale washed ashore on Himchhari beach adjacent to the Cox's Bazar-Teknaf Marine Drive on Tuesday.
At around noon, the dead whale got stuck on the beach at Himchhari Point.
Dhaka TribuneOn information, officials of the upazila administration, Forest Department, Department of Environment, livestock and fisheries department and police rushed to the spot.
Masum Billah, magistrate of Cox's Bazar Tourist Cell, said as the dead whale may spread a bad odour, they decided to bury it quickly.
Earlier in April 2021, two dead whales washed ashore in the same area of Cox's Bazar.
