Mercantile Bank celebrates 27th founding anniversary

Mercantile Bank PLC celebrated its 27th anniversary at its head office on Tuesday.

The bank’s vice chairman Akram Hossain (Humayun) inaugurated the program as chief guest with directors and senior executives of the bank.

Managing director of the bank Mati Ul Hasan delivered his welcome speech on the occasion.

MA Khan Belal, chairman, executive committee, Mohammad Abdul Awal, chairman, risk management committee, ASM Feroz Alam, sponsor director, Prof Mohammad Thoufiqul Islam & Prof Nasrin Sultana, independent directors, also spoke on the occasion. 

Deputy managing directors Md Zakir Hossain, Shamim Ahmed, Ashim Kumar Saha, Md Zahid Hossain & Tapash Chandra Paul, senior executive vice presidents Mohammad Iqbal Rezwan, Md Abdul Halim & head of main branch Md Abdul Awal and other senior executives of the bank were also present in the ceremony. 

On the eve of 27th Anniversary, all the divisions of head office cut cakes in a festive manner.

At the same time, all the MBPLC branches and sub-branches across the country also cut cakes and entertained customers with sweets and snacks. 

Bank’s vice chairman Akram Hossain (Humayun) stated that the bank’s progress in all variables, pointed that Mercantile Bank was established as a sustainable, reliable and customer friendly bank by its tremendous effort over 27 years.

He urged to provide techno-based and customer friendly banking services to ensure corporate governance in the coming days.

Managing director of the bank Mati Ul Hasan told that recovering classified loans will be the priority of the bank at this fiscal year. Agriculture, SME & Retail sector will be given preference regarding new loans whereas new agent banking outlets and sub-branches will be opened across the country to ensure the access of the banking services to the unbanked people.

Moreover, Digital Banking services will be easier and smart with the innovative products in the coming days, the MBPLC MD added.
