Secondary schools allowed to remain closed if max temp falls below 17°C

Amid a cold wave sweeping across Bangladesh, the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education has allowed the shutdown of secondary schools if the highest temperature of the districts they are located in is below 17°C.

Nasir banned for two years under anti-corruption code

Bangladesh cricketer and franchise player Nasir Hossain has been banned from all cricket for two years, with six months of that suspended, after he accepted three charges of breaching the Emirates Cricket Board’s anti-corruption code.

India court halts plans for survey of centuries-old mosque

India's Supreme Court on Tuesday halted plans for a survey to look for Hindu relics in the Shahi Eidgah mosque in the northern city of Mathura, saying that the application filed for appointment of the local commission was "very vague."
