BAF fighter aircraft crashes in Bay, pilot missing 

A fighter aircraft of Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) has crashed in Bay of Bengal in Patenga of Chittagong. Wing Commander Nur-E-Alam, manager of Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong, confirmed this to the Dhaka Tribune.

Abducted businessman rescued, 5 held 

Police have rescued a businessman, who was abducted on Thursday, in a drive in capital's Turag area. Five abductors were also arrested. They are Md Abdul Gofur and Golam Mohammad Chowdhury, both are former army officers, Md Azad Hossain, Md Sohanur Alam, and Md Sanaullah.

3 Hizb-ut Tahrir men held in Chittagong 

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) members have detained three members of banned Islamist outfitHizb-ut Tahrir in Muradpur area of Chittagong city early Monday. The detainees are Muntasir Alam, a teacher of an English medium school; Nur Mohammad, an advocate of a judge court; and AKM Salahuddin.

Commuters suffer due to Kishoreganj bus strike 

Road communication of Kishoreganj with other parts of the country has been suspended as Kishoreganj district road transport owners association enforced an indefinite transport strike. The strike was called centering a dispute between the owners and workers associations.

College admission results published 

The results of the first merit list for college admission for the academic session 2015-16 have been published on the ministry website on Sunday midnight. The results are available on the ministry website www.xiclassadmission.gov.bd. The results were scheduled to be published on Thursday night.

Banks, stocks closed Wednesday 

Public transactions at the scheduled banks will remain closed on Wednesday, the first day of fiscal year 2015-16 (FY16). There will be no public transactions at Dhaka and Chittagong stock exchanges on the day, official sources said.

Solar plane makes second bid to cross Pacific Ocean 

A solar-powered plane is making its second bid at a record-breaking flight across the Pacific Ocean. Solar Impulse took off from Nagoya Airfield in Japan at 18:03 GMT on Sunday and is scheduled to land in Hawaii in approximately 120 hours.
