Bangladesh-born, London-based karateka Adam Chowdhury has reached a proud milestone for the country by winning two bronze medals at the World Karate Federation (WKF) Youth League, currently being held in Harare, Zimbabwe.
Adam secured bronze medals in both the junior kata and the 61kg kumite categories, marking a historic achievement for Bangladesh in international karate. A total of 237 participants from 37 countries across the globe took part in the prestigious competition, making his accomplishment even more significant.
This is not the first time Adam has brought international recognition to the country. Earlier in 2024, he won a gold medal in cadet kumite and a bronze medal in cadet kata at the 11th Commonwealth Karate Championship in Durban, South Africa. His consistent performances on the global stage have highlighted his talent and dedication to the sport.
Adam’s continued international success has opened new possibilities for Bangladesh’s karate arena and is expected to inspire a new generation of young athletes to pursue the sport with greater ambition and confidence.
