Rabbi Hasan Munna bagged the gold medal in the 10m air rifle event of the day-long 2021 Sheikh Russel International Air Gun Shooting Championship (Online) Monday.
The second edition of the competition was organized to mark the 57th birth anniversary of Sheikh Russel, the youngest son of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
A total of 73 shooters from nine countries - India, Bahrain, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, the Ukraine, Singapore and hosts Bangladesh - took part in four events in the competition organized by Bangladesh Shooting Sport Federation.
Munna shone the brightest among the Bangladeshi shooters, winning gold with a score of 626.8, while Syeda Atkia Hossain claimed silver in the women's 10m air rifle event with a score of 623.3.
Another Bangladeshi shooter Shakil Ahmed notched bronze in the air pistol event.
