Bangladesh reached the semifinals of the men's volleyball event of the South Asian Games 2019 after India beat Nepal in the final Group A match Friday.
Holders India outplayed the hosts by straight 3-0 sets winning them 25-15, 25-13 and 25-16 points as the result saw India become group champions and Bangladesh finish as runners-up riding on their first-game win over Nepal.
Bangladesh is most likely to face Pakistan in the second semifinal at Cover Hall, Tripureshwor on Sunday. But Bangladesh’s opponent will be officially confirmed after the last Group B match between Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
Bangladesh captain Harsit Biswas was delighted with the semifinal berth but expressed concern about the sickness of six players including him who are struggling to adjust with the weather and altitude of Kathmandu.
