Bangladesh national volleyball team bagged their first win in the 2018 AVC Men’s Challenge Cup after beating United Arab Emirates comfortably by 3-0 set in their second match at Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka on Sunday.
The UAE, who defeated Mongolia the previous day couldn’t put up enough resistance against a dominant Bangladesh side that went ahead in the game by winning the opening set by 25-22 points.
It was a more comfortable win for Bangladesh in the second set as it ended 25-16 before they sealed the victory with a 25-18 point win in the third set.
Bangladesh, who earned a single point in their hard-fought defeat to Iraq by 3-2 sets in the opening game, now have earned four points from two matches. They are considered favourites when they face Mongolia in their last Pool B match on Monday.
