Econ has been playing in the bridge competition since 1988 while Rajib started his career in 2004. Bangladesh took part in the World Cup bridge for the first time last year where Rajib was one of the six members. Econ participated in many international bridge tournaments before, including a couple of Olympiads. The closing and prize giving ceremonies took place after the end of the final round in the evening where former foreign secretary Farooq Sobhan graced the occasion as the chief guest. Bangladesh Bridge Federation president Mushfiqur Rahman Mohan and tournament sponsor City Bank's senior vice president and head of corporate affairs division, Ananda Zaman were also present on the occasion. The top six pairs were handed over the prize money with the champions and runners-ups receiving Tk50,000 and Tk30,000 respectively. Shuja and Mamun, Nurul Alam and Sabber and Zahid and Jewel were placed fourth, fifth and sixth respectively.
