The men's team suffered a 2-1 defeat to South Korea in the fifth-sixth place classification match held in Kakamigahara, Japan, on Friday.
Ismail Hossain gave Bangladesh a deserved lead in the ninth minute of the first quarter with a field goal. However, Minseo Kim restored parity for South Korea by converting a penalty corner in the 22nd minute.
Jaehyeon Park sealed the victory for South Korea with a field goal in the 48th minute of the match.
Earlier, Bangladesh began their campaign with a 4-2 win over Malaysia but later suffered a narrow 3-2 defeat to China.
The boys' team's hopes of reaching the semifinals were dashed when they lost 5-2 to Pakistan in a crucial group-stage match.
Meanwhile, the Bangladesh women's team finished sixth after losing 4-0 to Malaysia in their classification match held on Thursday.
Earlier, the Tigresses suffered a 12-0 defeat to hosts Japan in their opening match before bouncing back with a 2-0 victory over Chinese Taipei.
The semifinal hope was eventually shattered when they suffered a massive 6-0 goal defeat to their Chinese counterpart in their crucial group final match.
