Bangladesh Navy and Bangladesh Army have made it to the final of the Bangabandhu Shahid Smrity Hockey 2020 after the end of the four-team group round at Maulana Bhashani Hockey Stadium Monday.
The two finalists faced each other in the last match of round-robin league group stage, where Navy came from behind to beat Army 3-2.
Mahbub Hossain scored twice in the 18th and 52nd minute, while Mainul Islam netted in the 44th minute for Navy. Naim Uddin and Hasan Jubair scored one each in the 20th and 35th minute.
Air Force defeated Bangladesh Police 4-2 in the day’s other match. Army topped the points table with three wins from as many matches, while Navy finished second with two wins. The final will be held on Friday.
