Tigresses clinch first ever T20I series against Pakistan

Bangladesh women’s cricket team sealed the three-match Twenty20 international series against Pakistan after winning Friday's second game by 20 runs in Chittagong’s Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.

This was Bangladesh women's first ever T20I series victory against Pakistan.

Asked to bat first, the Tigresses posted 120 losing six wickets in their 20 overs after useful contributions from player of the match Shorna Akter (27 not out) and Murshida Khatun (20) and handy knocks from Ritu Moni (19) and Shamima Sultana (18).

Pakistan’s Diana Baig bagged two wickets.

In reply, the visitors were restricted to 100 for the loss of seven wickets in their 20 overs as only three batters reached double digit – Bismah Maroof (30), Iram Javed (15) and Umm-e-Hani (14 not out).

After Wednesday’s first T20I, the home side’s bowlers put in another disciplined performance with Nahida Akter and Rabeya Khan picking up two scalps each.

Left-arm spinner Nahida had also starred in the series opener with a five-wicket haul.

Fahima Khatun and Marufa Akter took one apiece.

The third and final T20I will be held at the same venue Sunday.
