Bangladesh national women's cricket team registered some memorable feats in the just concluded One Day International series at home to India, most notably recording their first ever ODI victory against the neighbors and Fargana Hoque Pinky becoming the first ever Bangladesh woman centurion in 50-over cricket.
The Tigresses' brilliant display also had an impact in the latest rankings as Fargana and left-arm spinner Nahida Akter jumped to 19th place in the ODI batting and bowling rankings respectively, both best ever by a Bangladesh woman cricketer.
Right-handed batter Fargana, who scored a scintillating 107-run innings last Saturday in the third and final ODI to take her series tally to 181, now has career best 565 rating points to her name.
Adjudged the player of the series, the 30-year old is the first ever Bangladesh woman to enter the top 20 with the previous best position of 25th attained by Rumana Ahmed in February, 2017.
Like her teammate, Nahida also leapt to 19th place to surpass the previous best of 20th position achieved by Salma Khatun in December last year.
She bagged six wickets in the three India ODIs, including 3/37 in the third match.
