England openers Jos Buttler and Alex Hales made a mockery of the 169-run target set by India as the Three Lions coasted home with all 10 wickets and four overs to spare to qualify for the grand finale of the Twenty20 World Cup.
2010 champions England set up a final date with 2009 winners Pakistan this Sunday at Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Captain Buttler was unbeaten on a 49-ball 80 while his opening partner Hales was not out on a 47-ball 86 as England poured cold water over hopes of a final between arch-rivals India and Pakistan, who had contested the inaugural final of the 2007 T20 World Cup where the Indians won by five runs.
While Pakistan will be tough challengers given their performance since the twin defeats to India and Zimbabwe in the Super 12, England, and especially Ben Stokes will be looking to make amends for their final loss to the West Indies in 2016.
India, asked to bat first, posted 168/6 in 20 overs, riding on fifties from the in-form Virat Kohli (50 off 40) and all-rounder Hardik Pandya (63 off 33).

The Indians, having played their last T20 World Cup final in 2014, made a slow start, scoring 62/2 after 10 overs but added 106 in the last 10.
Pandya top-scored for the men in blue and before his hit wicket dismissal smashed four fours and five sixes.
But his power-hitting paled in comparison to Buttler (nine fours and three sixes) and Hales (four fours and seven sixes), who garnered 112 of their runs in boundaries.
